Our mission is to establish independent learners who are contributing citizens embracing life-long learning in a global community.  We strive to build strong relationships with all family and community members in order to have all stakeholders contribute to the growth of every student.  Our students will be technologically literate, critical thinkers prepared for a fast paced, ever changing world.

Fall picture money is due tomorrow.  Please make sure to send in money if you wish to purchase your child's pictures.

AdvancEd Accreditation

Hoke County Schools has received district-wide accreditation from AdvancED following an external review of the school system's processes and procedures in three primary areas: Teaching and Learning Impact, Resource Utilization and Leadership Capacity.  On September 12, 2017, the Hoke County Board of Education, superintendent, central office staff, and principals joined Executive Director of Federal Programs Erica Fortenberry as they received plaques confirming the accreditation. 

Hoke County Schools performed significantly higher than the national average on each area reviewed.  For Teaching and Learning Impact, Hoke County Schools received a score of 319 out of 400, compared to 268 nationally. For Resource Utilization, Hoke County Schools received a score of 347, compared to 286 nationally. For Leadership Capacity, Hoke County Schools received a score of 376, compared to 293 nationally. Hoke County Schools received an overall score of 341, compared to 278 nationally.

The accreditation process serves several purposes. It guarantees that our students are graduating from an accredited school district, it gives families confidence in the education their children are receiving, it lets our community know that we are dedicated to continuous improvement, and it ensures that all
of our schools and departments are aligned in our efforts to provide a quality education to our students.  Hoke County Schools received its last accreditation in 2012. The district will repeat the accreditation process every five years.

Open House

Sandy Grove will be having a Summer Reading and Math Contest using myON & Classworks

Every Student going into grades 3-5 who read 2000 minutes (an average of 40 minutes a day) & every student going into 1-2 who reads 1000 minutes (an average of 20 minutes a day) will receive a certificate and be put in a drawing for $50 gift card. In addition, the top reader in each grade level will get a $10 gift card. 

Every Student going into grades 1-5 who completes  800 minutes of math lessons (an average of 15 minutes a day will receive a certificate and be put in a drawing for $50 gift card. In addition, the top Math Star in each grade level will get a $10 gift card.

Immunization Requirements for 2017-2018

New students enrolling into Kindergarten  or new to the state of NC must be updated prior to the first day of classes

-5 Dtap vaccinations (4th dosage must be after the 4th birthday)
-4 Polio vaccinations (4th must be after the 4th birthday)
-2 MMR vaccinations
-3 Hepatitis B vaccinations
-2 Varicella vaccination (if student has had chicken pox, that must be documented by the health provider
-3 HIB vaccinations



The Kindergarten Health Assessment (KHA) must be completed after August 1, 2017.
